Thesis:  Experimental and Numerical Analyses Damage in Laminate Composites under Low Velocity Impact Loading
Passed Ph.D. qualifying exam 5/99, presented Ph.D. thesis proposal
and admitted to candidacy 11/98, Ph.D. received August 2002
He is currently group leader and senior engineer/manager at Exxon Research
Center, Houston, TX; received the Luther S. Long III
Memorial Award in Engineering Mechanics in April 2003.
 
Jun Zhai Ph.D. (September 1996 to January 2000)
Thesis:  Micromechanical Simulations of Dynamic Fracture in Ceramic Composites.
Passed Ph.D. qualifying exam with the highest overall score 11/97
Presented Ph.D. thesis proposal and admitted to candidacy 11/98)
Ph.D. completed January 2000, Motorola 2000-2002
Currently senior engineer and group leader at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
 
Vikas TomarPh.D. (May 2001 to December 2005)
Thesis: Molecular dynamics simulations of the shock response and Shock-induced chemical reactions.
Passed Ph.D. qualifying exam spring 2002 with a tie for highest score,
winner of the GT Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Graduate fellowship
in May 2003, presented Ph.D. thesis proposal in March, 2004;Ph.D. received fall 2005
Currently assistant professor at the University of  Notre Dame.
